I’ve done it. I’ve already put 2 1/4 pages on my Christmas List, and I started back in October. Yes, people, I’m that far ahead. Well, I’ve got to leave now. I might now post for a bit. I have to work on my Christmas List. Ha!

This Halloween, I have put my master artistry skills to work to choose and carve the perfect pumpkins. One is for my grandpa, who runs an airport, so it is a plane on it. The other one is for me, and I won’t break the amazing secret of what’s one that one until tomorrow. Until then, here is my airplane pumpkin.

Meet the Monster of Our Science Class

Halloween is just around the corner – and I’m so scared. No, not scared about ghosts and ghouls. I’m scared about a tiny fuzzy monster that lives in the back corner of our science room. The monster lives in a glass case, but has escaped already twice. One time escaping into the school cafeteria, I’d like to add. The moster is a tarantula.

Why, are you freaking out about this, you ask? First of all, the tarantula still has it’s venom inside of it. “It rarely bites,” says our science teacher casually. “Just get away from it if it rears back, that means it’s mad.” That’s real comforting.

Well, for the entire year, the tarantula plays happily in it’s cage, but around Halloween, it comes out. And it crawls over your hand if you want it to. And I’m sure it will rear back and bite me, and I might try to fling it across the room as its furry body crawls toward the table across my hand.

But I think I’m going to have it crawl over me anyway, maybe. I mean really, how many times does the option come up for a poisonous animal to scurry across your hand. Right? RIGHT? RIIGHT!? SOMEBODY SAY RIGHT!!

Poem About a Pumpkin

They’re fat, they’re tall, they’re thin, they’re round.

And when you cut into them they won’t make a sound.

You can buy a pumpkin in a store or on a farm.

You won’t even have to go into a stinky barn.

Take it home in the back of your car.

Scoop out its seeds, you just gave it a scar!

Carve it with a scary expression.

Make it look like it’s happy, or has deep depression.

Find a candle and put it on your porch.

You just wait a few days, the inside will be scorched!

After Halloween, the trick-or-treaters go away,

But the smelly rotting pumpkin is here to stay!

Duct Tape-There is So Many Uses for It!

You’ve all heard of the many uses for duct tape. Ties, dresses, even wallets. But have you ever heard of a duct tape flower? How about a duct tape flower….. on a pen? Well now you have!
We met our first duct tape flower on a pen at a hair salon, believe it or not. I had to write with it, so I asked my aunt for a piece of paper. She gave me the back of the receipt, and I wrote:
“I am writing this with a cool pen.”
The ink was green! The purple duct tape flower pen wrote in green! Can you believe it?

Al Banks can dunk everything Faye Green hits. I just kettle liver Mondays, not on pillows. Questioning rarity should take us very wildly. Will xylophones yell zero?

Now I’ll try the alphabet backwards.

Zebras yip “Xavier!”, which vents us to super rain. Quarreling people often nip my leather. Knowing June is here, gabbing fans eat dust. Can Betty answer?

Phew, I did it. That wasn’t too hard, but not everything really makes sense..

Meet… Meet…

Meet Unknown. We don’t know what kind of plant Unknown is, or even how to take care of him, therefore his temporary name is Unknown.

Unkown sits by the CD Player and all the CD’s. I think Unkown is happy there.

Unknown was also given to us by our grandma, who basically gave us all of our plants except for one.

I guess someday we’ll find out what to do with Unknown, but for now, he just sits there like a plant in a pot. Oh, wait-Unknown is a plant in a pot.

Well everyone, you’ve just met the last plant. Don’t you feel special? I’m sure Unknown feels special.

Meet Aloe

This is Aloe, the aloe vera plant. Aloe sits by our living room window all day, basking in the sun. Aloe sits on top of a mini shelf-thingy, surrounded by many painted clay figurines that we painted last summer. Isn’t that nice?

Aloe is from our grandma, and was thrown into a pot even quicker than Jade was. Isn’t that nice?

If you split Aloe’s leaves, you get a substance that is great for treating burns. We actually have Aloe Vera soap by some of the sinks in our house. Shhh… don’t tell Aloe. Isn’t that nice?

Meet Jade

This is Jade. Jade is a jade plant. Jade looks like a tree, but isn’t a tree. Jade was thrown into a pot one time when our grandma said we could have it but we had to get home in time for dinner. We left quite a mess of potting soil in our Grandma’s garage, but don’t worry, we cleaned it up before we left.

Jade sits by the fireplace next to Tim, our spider plant. I’m sure Jade enjoys talking with Tim, even though I don’t think Jade can talk. Maybe just looking at Tim is good enough for Jade.

Jade spends her October with this nice ghost in her pot, which flashes (the ghost, not the pot) in a variety of colors when you slide a switch on the ghost’s bottom. I’m sure Jade would enjoy this light show lots, if only we ever actually turned the ghost on. Oh well, maybe later.
